I got in to crafting to release my inner artist. I have delved in to so many different ones that I can't name them all here. What I do continue to do is crochet, paper crafts, and my favorite - sculpting. Sculpting has lead me in to many directions - polymer clay, clay firing and metal clay. My biggest dream is to have a studio with a KILN!! I drool when I see the beautiful studios on Pinterest. One area I suck at is 2-dimentional art as in drawing, painting etc. I love watching other artists doing their craft but bewail the fact that I just don't get it! 3D is totally another thing! I discovered about 10 years ago that I am able to take the 3D images from my mind and produce them into tangible art! I have worked with cement making garden art via hypertufa, and woodworking is another 3D way for me to express myself. I am NOT a perfectionist and that's a good thing because many of my crafts are less than perfect. My creations are all loved just the same. I would like to give my friends my creations but art is such a personal preference thing. I wait until someone raves about something I've made and then make one for them. I live alone and my days do not contain enough hours to permit me to do all that my heart desires. Hence my becoming a night owl. A night owl burning the candle at both ends leads to disaster - imagine fire and feathers! LOL I am content though. I do have a cat who is almost as old as me in cat years. I come from a large family and my brothers and sisters have taken it upon themselves to produce all the grandchildren for my Mom. That suits me just fine - I love being an Aunty. I just love having the videos that our teachers have made right at my fingertips. When you take a class somewhere you might be lucky enough to take home instruction manual and you only get to hear the information once whereas here we can see it over and over! Plus the classes are so reasonably priced. Hopefully I will be posting some finished projects soon enough.
