my grandmother taught me to knit when i was about 6, but i never pursued it. then, when i was about 25, i found a sweater that i was dying to knit, so i used the Reader's Digest Needlework Encyclopedia and retaught myself! then, i didn't do any crafts until i was about 40 -- except calligraphy, when i took up crocheting and made doily after doily after doily ... at that time, i scorned knitting as inferior to crochet -- after all, i only needed one hook to crochet. then, when i was about 52, a bug bit me and i began to knit in earnest. now, my life revolves around knitting, but i also dabble in crochet (still), origami, blackwork embroidery, and algebra (i know, it's not really a craft, but it feels like one), and i'm dying to learn macrame! so please add macrame to the Craftsy site, modern contemporary macrame -- no hippy stuff -- for us to enjoy. oh, i forgot to say, i specialize in lace knitting and crocheting -- i love lace, and lace loves me.
