January 4, 2013 - I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. My father actually gave me my crafting start, by letting me help him with his model trains, planes, and rockets when I was a kid. I guess that's why I'm so into miniatures today! But I also love crochet, and knitting. My dad and I are really the only crafters in our family, and we are always swapping ideas and techniques (especially since HE took up crochet and knitting too, just a few years ago!) I have always wanted to learn how to quilt, so I signed up when I saw the Craftsy BOM class was free! I think he may be interested in learning how to quilt too - he was asking me questions about it only a month ago. So, we'll see what happens! I'd love to see my dad behind a sewing machine to be honest - I think he would really enjoy it! February 4, 2O13 - OK, it's exactly a month since I joined the Craftsy website, and I've got to say, I'm am so AMAZED by some of the beautiful work that has been done by other Craftsy members out there. I wasn't sure that I would like doing a sampler quilt because most samplers that I've seen just didn't have any flow or semblance of order to them. In other words, IMO, they were ugly! But some of the pictures that have been put up by other quilters have made me change my mind. There are so many talented people out there, that I just had to say you've all inspired me to try new things, and to keep going even if something hasn't turned out quite the way I wanted it to. I've been using the seam ripper a lot lately for the 2012 blocks - I haven't done the Chevron block yet. I'm going to try to tackle that today. So, Thank You to everyone out there who have inspired me and others with your beautiful works!
