Made my first quilt 5 years ago and fell in love. Quilting and applique seem to be my purpose. I have made at least 8 quilts a year and currently have one quilt in the quilting stage, 3 block of the month quilts in the sewing stage, 2 quilts cut and 2 in the planning stage.

I cut out a quilt and gave it to my mother for Christmas this past year, she fell in love also. At 75 years of age she made her first quilt top and is having the seniors at the senior center teach her to hand quilt it. She has also made 3 other quilts in the 2 months she has been making them. I think she found a new love also.
If you have not quilted yet I recommend trying it. It totally relaxes me!
