Hello, my name is Lori, but most of the people that are close to me call me Lizzy Beth, so that is what I decided to name my store. I was born in the United States, but I grew up in Canada and came over the border to the United States with my family when I was 16 years old. The majority of my relatives still live across the way to Canada.
When I was a little girl of about 2 or 3 years old I used to sit at my grandmother?s feet and string buttons from a jar that she kept special just for me, while she would do her quilting and mending. When I was old enough to safely hold a thread and needle, she taught me how to stitch fabric together by hand to make my own doll clothes. From there, I started designing Barbie doll clothes and then my own clothes. I was hooked from the first button that I strung. I just fell in love with so many fabrics and had to experiment with them. The kids at school would always ask where I got my outfits and when I told them that I made them, they were amazed and wanted me to teach them how.
I had dreams of going to design school, but back in the day it just was not possible, so I fell in love and got married and started a family ? one now grown beautiful daughter and two now grown handsome young men. My dreams of becoming a designer were put on hold for the love of my babies. I still sewed for them and I also sewed for others, but with three little ones, my life was pretty full. Their father was also in the military, so we moved around a lot. There just was not enough time for me to fully realize my first dream of becoming a designer.
Now it is years later, my children are grown with lives of their own, so I am finding that I have time to do some creative designing for others? again. I love to design and create special memories for family and other people so I hope you stop by my store and say hello. If you would like a custom design, I will be more than happy to help you, so do not hesitate to contact me. Just because you do not see it in my store doe not mean that it can?t be done. I have been sewing and creating for almost 50 years, so if the materials can be found, it can be done.
I also have a blog that you can check out. It is located at: www.victorianroseinc.com. Please stop by and say hello!
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you a little bit about myself. I hope you enjoyed the share.
