I am a custom cake designer. I have a two year culinary degree, and was a line cook at a fabulous gem of a restaurant, River Tavern, in Chester, CT. After two years of being in love with the River Tavern family, my immediate family was not so in love with my hours. So, on my families behalf, and with tears in my eyes, I stopped the job of my dreams. With no job, and the children getting older, I found myself wondering what I was going to do. My first goal, before figuring out anything, was to make a beautiful and great tasting cake. Cakes were my worst unit in culinary school. I could easily make savory food taste delicious, and look beautiful on the plate. However, I could not seem to connect with the cakes in order to make them delicious and beautiful.
