I learned to crochet from a college roommate. I have done it off and on over the years and now I am addicted to making amigurumi. I find crocheting soothes my mind and calms my soul. I try to spend at least 30 minutes a day doing it, but usually it is more than that as I do it on the bus during my morning and evening commute.
