I started pre-school when I was not quite 2 at the very hippy-touchy-feely Coldwater Canyon Cooperative Nursery School, in the hills that separate Las Angeles proper and the San Fernando Valley. The school was run by a child's Mother, an artist. The first day, her little girl Julie, who I'd never met, was put at the table with me, and we were set to work on our first craft project. I don't know what it was (something with clay, found objects, and small plastic toys). I'm still close friends with the woman that little girl became, and we both still make things like there is no stuff out there.
I draw, paint, sculpt, sew, bead, knit, cook and write. I also love to make woodcuts, linotypes, screen printing, up-cycling, decoupage, and comics.
