Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: The neck is Rice Krispy treat. The head is a modified red velvet cake, 3- 8" rounds and one half soccer ball on top. The 4 layers are separated and covered with a cream cheese Swiss meringue buttercream and sit on a 6" cake round. There are 4 smoothie straws, cut down, in the RKT, holding up the cake. The cake and most details are white modeling chocolate. Maggots are cut from white gumdrops. Tendons are from some sour strip candy that had nice striations. Whole cake is airbrushed.

Thank you so much! I had so much fun with this cake. It's not my usual style, but my friend requested "gruesome" so I went for it! Loved the class!

WOW! I can't say that this is very appetizing, but you did mention that you were asked for gruesome.... Thanks so much for showing and explaining the stages. Would never have been able to imagine how it was constructed. You are truly an artist and probably should have been a sculptress :)
