This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Beginner Serging: Machine Basics & Techniques »

Instructions

At the very beginning of the project, my serger quit, so I finished using my regular sewing machine. I made two bags this way and one is pictured inside out so you can see how this project looks on a sewing machine.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Women

Style: Classic, Retro / Vintage, Traditional

Materials

The fabric is Susan Winget "Reign of the Roost--Postage", available at Joann Fabrics: http://tinyurl.com/aow3tg9

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure all the triangles you cut off each corner are the same size, otherwise the bag will be lopsided. I made this mistake with the first bag. For the second, I did one corner and used the cut off piece as a template for the others.

Super cute! I like the "postage" fabric on the right. Hopefully your serger will be freshly serviced in time for your next bag!
