Bag-Making Basics: Reversible Tote & Zipper Pouch »
Instructions
If you're using a heavier weight oilcloth, you may not need the interfacing on the lining, or at least use a lighter one than Craftbond by Pellon. My pouch was a bit bulky to work with. However, if you like a finished pouch with substantial body that holds its shape, go for it! Just be sure to leave a little bigger opening for turning!Difficulty:
Category: Sewing
Type of item: Accessory
For: Women
Style: Mod, Hipster, Whimsical, Casual
Materials
Oilcloth/vinyl coated cotton, Pellon craftbond interfacing pressed to the lining fabric, recycled zipper, thread.
What was your inspiration?
Kristin's project pictures are inspiration enough! However, cute fabrics and a desire to have more little containers to keep different things in is always fun. :)
What are you most proud of?
Having used the recycled zipper from an old purse. It has a lot of metal on it, so sewing over it took some care, but it's so smooth and I love the look!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't miss any of Kristin's steps!!!! Like forgetting to sew the outsides together at the bottom before sewing the sides shut.... Or forgetting to clip your corners before turning - not that I would make EITHER of these mistakes....
