What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be careful with fabric choice. I have changed to fabrics with more contrast and the piecing shows much better.

Your zigzag blocks came out wonderfully! You have a great contrast between the Haida fabric and the orange. The one with striped pastel fabrics is much more subtle, but still very effective. You did a great job on both color combinations!
