What was your inspiration?

I love figuring out reversible designs and the zigzag pattern is fun to work with!

What are you most proud of?

I like how the design continues down into the fringe. This is an extra long afghan to keep you warm on a cold evening.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is not as complicated as it looks! The reversible design is achieved by alternating rows of grey and white, using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with grey on odd rows and white on even rows creating the reversible effect. The ends of some of the rows are woven in and some are left to be incorporated into the fringe for the continuation of the design. A design chart is also included with the pattern for reference.

The finished afghan size is 45" wide x 72" long (not including fringe).

This pattern is available for $4.00 and is written in U.S. terms.

I've never tried a zigzag pattern. This has inspired me to try. I need a new throw for my bed. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much! This is worked in straight rows and the zigzag design is created by long stitches that are worked down into the previous row. It's a lot of fun!
