Crochet cotton, size 10, in 400 yd. (365 m) balls - light ecru (4-6 balls), and small amounts of light copper, brown and cream; a size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook; and 2 0.67 oz. (19g) bags of Heishi beads.
What was your inspiration?
I wanted to create a versatile top incorporating the shape of a shawl into the design. I also wanted to find a way to use beads in the project.
What are you most proud of?
I really like the way this turned out. I like both the pointed sleeve and straight sleeve options. The beads were a lot of fun to add in, too!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you love to work with thread and beads, this is the perfect project for the intermediate crocheter.
The instructions are very detailed. It is helpful to circle the instructions pertaining to the desired size.
The finished chest sizes are: 35, 41-3/8 and 47-3/4. Additional size variations can be achieved by changing the hook size.
