Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing Studio: Fashion Fitting, Home Decor & More »

Instructions

Right before you do the french seam and are trimming the excess fabric away from the edge, cut as close to the seam as possible, otherwise, you risk having them peek through when you turn your project inside out and sew another seam.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod, Hipster, Cute

Materials

Cotton fabrics and muslin

What was your inspiration?

Wanted a modern looking pillow that matched my turquoise chair.

What are you most proud of?

I love the way it looks! I made my own tutorial based off of Diana's instruction: http://www.fromwootoyou.com/2012/10/diy-french-seamed-envelope-pillow.html?m=0

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient and make sure you understand the instruction before committing to sewing/cutting.

How exciting. It must have been fun. You will never look at Project Runway the same way again on their visits to shop. Glad you got a chance to see the real thing. Thanks for getting a reply off to me. I was SO curious

Did you get to Mood while you were in New York......I replied to your original question just before your trip.

woops didn't get to finish.. It was a bit confusing to find at first because it's actually inside an office building, and you have to go up an elevator to get to it. 3 floors of TONS of fabric and notions. It was a little intimidating since there were all these fashion students there knowing what to get and do, while I was wandering aimlessly trying to decide which fabric and how much to get. I'm glad I went!
