What was your inspiration?

My daughter who is in Afghanistan right now. These were fabrics that I used to make her an outfit when she was about 7 or 8 yrs old and when she was in high school a Renaissance costume for the Renaissance fair. I'm going to send it to her and see if she remembers the fabrics. of course I'll fill it with goodies from home! : ) I miss her so much! Constructing this project kept her close to my heart.

What are you most proud of?

My Daughter! and that I finished this in time to send it to her before her birthday. (April 25th) ; )

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make it for someone you love and maybe use fabrics you used that had to do with that person. It's like a smaller version of a memory quilt.

I'm so glad you decided to make the blocks into a tote bag - and what a perfect gift for your daughter, too - full of memories and special gifts from home. Making a gift with love is such a very special gift for BOTH of you.
