What was your inspiration?

While having my morning coffee i started doing a doodle of a coffee cup - then I wanted to do a set. I do all my doodling in the morning while I have my coffee and that is where the name "Zen Coffee" came from. After the coffee cups were done I started a set of fish cards.

What are you most proud of?

Taking the hand drawn doodles into the computer and converting them to vector art and producing quality digital art. I love blending traditional drawing with digital art. I used Illustrator to convert the drawings.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just draw a simple outline of an object and fill in with either traditional zen doodle patterns or just make up your own. (I do both) You can also color these. I use water color pencils when I do color mine and it's beautiful. Give as an original drawing or scan and print.

Zentangles has been trademarked so I opted for zen doodle since I'm selling my cards on Etsy. You can also google zen doodle and get tons of hits.

I am very grateful you posted your artwork. I am going to do something similar for my sister for a gift. I'm going to embroider some Zen art dishtowels for her! Great idea! Love the entire ZEN 'thing' -- I do have a question - do You use a particular program/software to convert scanned line art to VECTOR images?? I'd love to learn.........Thanks
