What materials did you use? First I tried the colored pencils but it wasn't dark enough for a black dog, so went to paint.

They say eyes are the key to the soul and it's true. At first I had Z with black eyes and it just didn't look right. Then really looked at the photo I took this from and realized the eyes were predominantly brown. Hard to cover that black sharpie but I was fearless (like Lorna) and used thread for the eyes to get them brown and it made all the difference.

Even before I read you comment about the eyes, I loved the sparkle in the eyes! Knowing now everything you did to make them, they are even greater!
