What was your inspiration?
My daughter saw a handmade bag at a Health and Wellness Show and hinted that maybe I could make her one for Christmas. I started making the first one and immediately ran amuck with my plan. After Christmas I tried again, keeping in mind that I was basically making a long tube bag. This time I was successful.
What are you most proud of?
I'm so happy that this bag turned out so well. It's exactly what I had in mind when I started planning. My daughter, in Canada, has only seen the bag in the photos I've emailed and is quite excited for me to mail it to her. I've used the colors she likes best.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid to try your hand at designing your own project. The first item you make might not be perfect, so just keep trying until you refine it to your ideal. Adding extra features, trim, decorations, etc. make it special and unique. The first bag I made would have made a nice arrow quiver if only Lola was into archery, not yoga.
