What was your inspiration?
I am attending daily yoga classes at a wonderful yoga studio in my town. Some years ago I received a free canvas tote bag at a different yoga studio with a purchase I made. I did not want to advertise for the other studio at the studio I am now attending. There is nothing wrong with the other studio, it just seemed tacky to take their bag to my new studio.
I added an interior pocket so I can drop my keys, earrings, or other small items in there and find them quickly.
What are you most proud of?
I had such a nice experience making the purple felt flower, I wanted to do something with a lotus theme. I had baby blue and cream felt remnants in my stash, so I used those to create the lotus flower to cover the logo printed on the bag.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just get started! Cut out your "petals" and lay them out, layer by layer, before gluing or stitching them in place. If you need additional petals or different sizes, you'll know before committing yourself to the plan.
