my neighbor had a yo yo quilt her great grandmother had mad and i decided to try it.. i have been addicted for over 20 years now

What are you most proud of?

love my American Flag

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

because yo yos are small they can be done anywhere that you have to wait around

I be happy to share my pics. Wooden stars I didn't catch that on the photo. Great idea...I like to add objects to my quilt or wall hanging. I think it adds interest. Hope to complete one before Christmas.

Tell your son thanks for his service..My husband, Dad and father-in law were in the military. Have a safe trip and enjoy your time with your son.. Could I copy your idea and make my own quilt. If so, what size yo yos did you use?

thank you so much for your positive comments.. i have been doing yo yo projects at least 20 years and whenever i show them to someone i always feel self consious even though i have had only positive feedback..of course you can copy it i would feel flattered this is actually a wall hanging there are loops at top to hang it..this one i used an old cd disc to cut the circles, however,previously i made a flag for a friend and used the top of a spray can for the size.. personally i like the smaller size better ( the spray can top) whatever size circle u cut when you gather it it then becomes half the size you started with. i have made full yo yo quilts with both small and large yo yos and my personal preference is either a 3 or 4 inch circle to start.. having so many military people in your family i think u will busy a long time once you start

thank you my son is in the military.. i am going to visit in August and i will bring this with me when i go overseas
