What was your inspiration?

I love the colors in this quilt. I chose the fabrics, but my daughter chose the colors.

What are you most proud of?

One of my first "big" quilt projects that actually got finished! Oh, and of course, the cute fluffy "grandcat" posing in front of it. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a good pattern for a first quilt -- no triangles!

Your quilt is lovely, but I must admit what really caught my eye is the beautiful kitty cat. It looks so much like our recently passed Miss Morrigan, yes we had a red girl kitty cat. She was 1/4 Persian and had that kind of muzzle and "cheeks". Thank you.

That's one of my "grandcats", Tucker. She's a big fluffy girl. :)

I love this quilt! and as the other gal indicated, I agree, beautiful colors. Do you have a pattern for this? I am learning to quilt and would love this for my bed

The pattern is called Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs. The link for info on the pattern is in the section above. Just click on the name of the pattern under "Make this project". It's a very simple pattern -- only squares and rectangles. The size of mine is the lap size, if I remember correctly, and it took 12 fat quarters plus fabric for the borders.

Thank you! I have to give credit to my daughter -- her school colors.
