I don't know why my inches symbol didn't show up, but the 42 is in inches. Also, I have others that have complained about the beaded ribbon getting tangled in the yarn, so that might be something you will also find annoying and want to just leave it out :)

The idea actually came from my sister-in-law. She purchased a yarn scarf at a local shop for around $40 and I think it was a sale price! So, being the yarn lover I am, looking at it, I decided it was so simple and I had a huge stash to experiment with! All this is, is many strands of yarn laid out together in a bunch, and tying it every so often with embroidery thread. I do add one strand of beads to dazzle it up! These particular scarfs were made a little over 42 but this is on my daughter. Depending on how you want to wear your scarf, if you just have it long enough to lay it across your neck to be decorative, 42 I think is perfect. If you want to tie it like it is on her, I would go longer. It really depends on how you are planning to wear it and youll just have to play with the length. If you are unsure, its always best to go longer rather than shorter; you can always cut it if its too long! I will say that in the end, and depending on what types of yarn you are using, $40 is not an unreasonable asking price for a yarn scarf.

Is this a pattern that you are sharing? Can the pattern be bought? I can't find any instructions or any way to find out about it.
