I did not use the fancy tools, just made very thin rolls by hand. I covered the balls first going round through the "equator" and then filled the caps perpendicularly, just cutting with my fingers to the size needed - worked very well in my humble opinion.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
A knitters birthday!
What are you most proud of?
The balls. They are *fun*!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Do not be put off if you don't have a sugar gun! The slight variations in the "yarn" could well be due to it being hand spun ;-) it does help if there is an extra pair of hands or two to make the thin rolls, though!
