What was your inspiration?
The theme for the party was 40 rocks so I decide to use styrofoam and paint it like a rock slab. Instead of using the traditional lettering I carved the message on to the slab making it look like an actual carving. I added some black into the carving and placed the cake on a cakeboard cut out the shape of the cake and placed it on the styrofoam.
What are you most proud of?
The styrofoam base gives it an adult look since the game controller can look kiddish.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Always remember to adhere the cake board to the cake base!! It make seem like the cakes weight will hold it down but cakes will slide easily if not adhered properly.
