Instructions

Check your gauge. While I still like my finished project, it didn't turn out nearly as large as the one in the picture with the instructions. I double-checked my row and stitch counts and did have the correct count.
Maybe because it was yarn ends and it wasn't listed as knitting worsted or ??? Personally, I find that variegated yarn doesn't seem to be as heavy as single colour yarn - does ...

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Funky, Mod

Materials

Factory yarn ends from Walmart. I bought a whole pile of this particular yarn, so you will see multiple projects in it.

What was your inspiration?

The pattern came on a label for some yarn that I used for another project. I liked how it looked.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Again, check your gauge. I don't usually do this, but this project sure turned out to be an abbreviated version of the picture on the label. And maybe don't use variegated yarn. Unless you want one as small as mine. The really weird thing is the pattern says that it's supposed to measure 14" x 80 ". Mine is about 14" wide, but only about 65" long. If you look in the picture with the instructions, there is no way that one is only 14" wide.

It looks great though. I don't know why it turned out smaller. Maybe someone else does. Keep up the good work

Thanks. I'm relatively still happy with it. l just wish I had made it longer in spite of the fact that I had completed the required number of rows. It was my first experience crocheting cables and I was pleased with how they turned out. They don't show up that well with the variegated yarn, however.
