Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Holbrook Shawl »

Instructions

If you want a larger shawl without knitting additional repeats of the body and border charts - then increase the yarn weight - and you won't have to.
I knit 18 repeats of chart2 and 41 repeats of the border chart and the finished shawl blocked to 99inches wingspan - it wraps around beautifully and stays put.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Plus-sized

Style: Funky, Outdoorsy, Casual

Materials

Berrocco Ultra Alpaca - worsted weight 4 skeins Colourway Blueberry Needles 5mm (us8)

What was your inspiration?

I have made other laceweight patterns in heavier yarns - so that I can wear them in the winter months - and decided I wanted to do the same in Holbrook

What are you most proud of?

That my idea worked - and that the beads complimented the yarn really well

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are less than 5 ft 10 and using worsted weight - I would do alot less repeats .
I knit 19 repeats of the body (less than the regular fingering weight pattern) and unblocked the wingspan was 75 inches - after aggressive blocking it was nearly 100 inches - but did relax back about two inches when it was unpinned.
