What was your inspiration?

I thought I'd help my facebook friends learn to make a simple fall scene. Many quilters love landscape quilts, but are a bit too intimidated to try making one themselves. This simple tutorial - complete with step by step photographs should help you give it a go!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Follow the tutorial and ask for help if you need it! You can post questions on my wall, or photographs of your fabric choices - I'll be around to help you.

Thank you. If you find my patchworks that praise page on facebook, you'll find the directions to make it. :)

Thanks for the heads-up. I ordered The Art of Landscape Quilting today. I will be ready to go! Fell off my bicycle and broke my kneecap, so after surgery i will have lots of time to sew instead of my usual Spring gardening...sorta a bad news/good news thing.

I hope you recover quickly! At least there won't be any weeds growing up in your quilter garden. Happy Easter!

I hope you aren't disappointed, my book is on the watercolor landscape quilt technique. If you'd like to learn more about this raw edge applique, there are two great books I can recommend. The first is Landscape Quilting by Natalie Sewell and Nancy Zieman, the second book is their book The Art of Landscape Quilting. Since they are older books now, I bet you can find them for cheap on Amazon. Have a good weekend!
