Beautiful..How did you achieve the bark texture on the trees?

I used dye markers, both black and then one for scrapbooking which is kind of paint and kind of ink in white... if you find my Page on facebook, there is a tutorial and step by step pictures showing how I make these forest scenes. Here is a link - https://www.facebook.com/patchworksthatpraise

Cathy, your work is amazing! I only saw Birches andVirginia Creeper before, but I just saw your other projects. I am sure you must have had quilts in the AQS quilt show. If not, you should have. I dont know where you live but I am wondering if you give classes. I have always loved pictorial quilts and these are some of the best I have seen. Keep up the great work. Shirley

Thank you Shirley, yes I've exhibited at AQS in Paducah, in fact my Monument Valley quilt is there even as we speak. I teach for various quilt guilds here and there. Since writing my second book took up most of last year, I wasn't able to schedule much and do much elsewhere so I sort of fell off the radar screen. I'm teaching in Arizona in September and that is about it for 2014. Thank you for liking my quilts!
