I cut the pieces for my shirt pattern from a XXL mens shirt which is the uniform fabric at my work.To be economical with time and fabric I used the existing front placards buttons and all - which is why the shirt closes in the mens direction.

What was your inspiration?
I need at least one of these shirts for work and the fit on the available womens ones was so bad on me it was unwearable.
What are you most proud of?
Manageing to get all the pieces cut out of an existing shirt.
My collars are improving - I think I have finally got the technique of turning them.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't do this. And don't use polyester - it was really horrible to sew with after those nice UK & Italian shirting cottons. The fabric had alot less ease and puckered easily even when sewing taut seams as Pam advises.
