What was your inspiration?

This is a sample of a project I am teaching.

What are you most proud of?

Overall finish and look of garment. Plaids matched well, inside is nicely finished.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Matching plaids is not difficult they just take time and patience. Make sure you buy extra fabric to accommodate the plaids and pay attention to the plaid repeat.

Thank you. Are you considering this pattern for your Chinese brocade fabric? If so, the pattern features longer versions of the same jacket as well.

Your jacket does look professionally made. I love the your seam finishes, looks great. I am have bought Chinese Brocade material to make a jacket for myself. I have never made a jacket this fancy before. However, I fell in love with the material and it was on sale; which made it hard to pass up. I bought some fine cor-dory material to make a skirt to match the jacket. I have a good fitting pattern for a lined skirt.

Thank you. I would have made it much longer had it not been for a specific class.

Love the look of this jacket. Great job on the plaid! I have some Pendleton plaid in my stash that I haven't know what to do with... this gives me an idea!

Do you mean the Tailored Shirt class? I not quite ready for another class. I am still trying to finish the Couture dress, knits and jeans class. After reading your profile I have a feeling we have a lot in common perhaps in taste and generation so your comments are very appreciated.

I am signed up for so many :) But think I may try another sew knit project. PJ until I get the pattern for the pants class with Sandra. I am so excited to work on pants in her class. Have you looked and the new shirt class?

Thanks, this was actually fun to make. I appreciate all your comments. My next projects are a tutorial on invisible zippers and a top for myself made of a medium weight knit. What are you sewing these days?
