What was your inspiration?
The Pentleton wool came to me from my mother-in-law's stash. I wanted to use her materials in a quilt for her since she is now in a nursing home. The wool fabric is so beautiful it needed to be used in large enough chunks to show it off. I used the plaids in modified 12 inch snowball blocks.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of designing a quilt that showed off both the Pentleton wool and old buttons from my mother-in-law's stash.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Pre-wash everything, so no more shrinkage will occur after construction. Flannel on the backside keeps the blanket soft and cozy.
