Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Inspired Modern Quilts: 7 Small Projects With Big Style »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Cute, Casual

Materials

Cotton fabric.

What was your inspiration?

All the leftover fabric I have from a project, and Elizabeth Hartman's blocks.

What are you most proud of?

Something nice -and usable - came out of fabric that could have been thrown away.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just have fun and give it a try! :)

I love the variation in strip width. An interesting effect came out of using so much white - the log cabin block effect was almost entirely lost and you have a "less controlled" feel to the piecing.

Thank you Mamadoc! I know... I tried to keep the cream and cream-on-cream fabrics in such a way that I could still see the log cabin effect, which I know seems to be lost. I do like the random result; it was really fun to make, and the best part is that you can build it up from tiny pieces of fabric, and you get that "less controlled feeling" you mention. :)
