looks bright and cheerful..:)
Thanks. It is happy quilt.
really nice quilt and great colours
I love it! Colours, houses, flowers - the lot!
Thank you! It was so much fun to make. I don't often just let go like that.
On looking at it again I noticed the narrow borders round each of the house blocks. That is very neat and makes a very sharp and clean effect. I wonder if I could ask you how you did it, please? Many thanks. Patricia
I folded 1 1/4 inch strips of fabric in half and laid them flat on top of each house block with folded side facing the block. Using a 1/4 inch seam allowance I stitched them down. That left the folded edge loose on top of the blocks.. Then I stitched the sashing on the same 1/4 inch seam line. When the sashing was pressed back, the little yellow borders remained on top of the blocks. I hope that makes sense. :)
Yes - it does make sense. Thank you. I'd never have worked that our for myself! You're a clever lady!
Afraid I'm not the clever one. I saw a quilt at a quilt show that had these cute little picture frame borders around some blocks so I copied the idea. I am glad that you like it, though and I hope you have fun putting the frames into some of your own, very original, quilt designs.
Love this quilt with the wonky houses and the piping around each block. I've been thinking of doing a wonky house quilt for years and still haven't tried one. One of these years.
This little quilt was a break from the tedium of a complex sampler quilt that I'd worked on for months. It was simple and just plain fun. One of these days I'll make a larger one - perhaps something holiday themed.
