Materials

100% cotton fabrics, 80/20 batting and 40 wt. machine embroidery thread for quilting.

What was your inspiration?

Just got word that my nephew became a father! He and his wife are the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy! I'm a big fan of the Dr. Suess variety of prints available and wanted to make something fun and colorful that will entertain him for years to come as he grows.

What are you most proud of?

That the machine quilting I decided to do fits with the totally wonky visual of the flip flop blocks.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be careful when you make your rows that the blocks alternate on the concave and convex to create the wavy flow. And then be certain when you sew the rows together that the wavy flow runs vertically as well. It is all too easy to flip the block and not notice!
