this quilt was done in a traditional manner. First I picked the fabric and decided howI would lay it out. I then measured and cut all of the pieces, including the squares, the yellow and the poppy (red) fabric. Then I Sew all of the rows and sewed the rows together. Now my top was finished. Next comes the sandwich, the top, the batting and the backing. Once the 3 layers are secure the quilting is done all over the quilt. I do straight line quilting with my walking foot. You sound like a person who really wants to try quilting. I learned to quilt y taking the first two classes, Quickly Quilting and Quickly Quilting II, on Craftsy. They are very good beginner courses.

Hi, how much material did you use? I'm making one.

This was done several years ago with no pattern, so I am unable to remember. I doubt that I had any more than a yard of each.
