What materials did you use?
100% cotton Wizard of Oz fabric
I'm a novice quilter. Fell in love with this material. Once I cut out the squares can you give me direction on getting them on the background?
I also am a relative novice, so I can only tell you how I did it. I decided how big I wanted the project and laid out the blocks that I had cut, leaving spaces between them. I then measured the spaces and cut strips from my background fabric adding about an inch to allow for seam allowances and mistakes in measurements. I started by adding the strips (called sashing) to the centre block. Then attached the side blocks to gather and added to the centre block. Then I created rows for the top and bottom and added these to the centre block. After that I added the border strips.
Were they machine appliqus?
These is no appliqu, it is all the material that I purchased,
I can't thank you enough for answering my query and sharing how your outstanding masterpiece came together.

Hello! I've had some of this fabric for a couple months, a friend of mine is absolutely mad for the Wizard of Oz. I've been at a bit of a loss how to go about it with all odd shaped squares. Seeing this has given me a good start on ideas! Lovely job too by the way
Many thanks. My friend is also mad for the Wizard of Oz. Suggestion - use a background fabric to make some of the shapes the same size. I used the yellow and the poppy fabric. I look for ward to seeing your completed project.
Is the Wizard of Oz quilt for sale?
Unfortunately it is not for sale. My girlfriend loves it and it was made for her.
