Black & gold Jasper pendant, Vintaj Parawire square wire in 18 gauge, Vintaj Parawire round wire in 22 gauge, Leather cord

What was your inspiration?

I purchased the Cabochon because I liked the black & gold coloring, and the brass wire was a good choice because it didn't detract from the stone.

What are you most proud of?

I am happy that the stone is secure! I worry about that most of all. I started out with a square 21 gauge to wrap the two pieces of 18 ga. wire together, but it was too thick and the stone sat too far away from the base.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Get some "Tool Magic" coating for your tools! I had a lot of tool marks from my pliers, and the Tool Magic is a rubberized dip for your tools to help prevent that. I would have saved time on sanding the marks out of the wire. Besides that, practice, practice, practice! Get some inexpensive wire to start out with. You will make mistakes, and probably not be happy with the first 10 or so wraps you do...
