What are you most proud of? I'm thrilled that my first quilt turned out well enough that I'm not embarrassed to give it as a gift.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Watch the Craftsy Piece, Patch, Quilt: Basic Quiltmaking Skills video lessons. I couldn't have done it without that video!!

It was my first quilt and I had an experienced quilting friend walk me through it. There was no pattern. You just cut 36 squares (mine were 6"). Lay them out in a way that's pleasing to you. I used 1930s reproduction fabrics for children since it was for a baby. Then I put a white border and then another border made from the 30s fabric. I did fussy cut the corner blocks. Thanks for asking and I hope that helps.

I always enjoy looking at these colorful quits ,they were so original, I have enough different color scraps now to put one together.guess I'll get started.
