What was your source for this recipe?
Tell us more about what inspired you. As a member of the committee at Noahs Ark pre-school I get the task every year to make a Xmas cake to raffle. This year I wanted something that didn't have father Xmas on so inspiration came from decorating the tree with my kids.
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. I had to chill cake overnight before shaping so it wouldn't crumble when cutting, once shape was achieved and left overs safely tucked away in my belly I then started the task of covering in red fondant. I will admit this took 3 attempts but I figured it out, once that was done it was a simple case of cutting out circles and placing round cake, with the snowflakes, bauble top and dots these were made from white fondant then they were dusted with icy white powder to add that bit of bling. Once cake completely decorated I used the left over snowflakes to decorate the board, then the ribbon round side of board and vola done and dusted.
