Joys of Winter by Lynda Howell --The Stitch Connection

Instructions

Have basic knowledge of using Pellon or fusible web for appliqueing or other method that suits you. Set machine to a small, decorative zig zag stitch for edges of fabrics. Use matching thread.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Holiday, Cute

Materials

BOM kit from local fabric store, embroidery thread, quilting thread, sewing machine, rotary cutter, mat, ruler, iron, ironing board, fabric paints.

What was your inspiration?

A fabric shop near my house offered this project on a first come basis and I just happened to be one of the lucky ones asked to participate.

What are you most proud of?

This is my first attempt at appliqueing an entire block and it came out better than I expected.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient and cut carefully.

Nice work Sewbug, once tried doing a picture in needle felting, it didn't turn out very good as i kept stabbing my fingers with the felting needle, so had lots of tiny blood spots all over it, But might try your style of picture instead, x x

I've never tried that and it doesn't sound too fun. Since I have learned how to do this, now I just want to applique every thing I see. It's really fun !!

Oh, I got some of the Tulip paint you suggested so I could do his face. From the looks of the other blocks I will be putting it to good use.
