The wine glasses are plastic but you could make them from sugar for a totally edible cake. The grapes are gum paste so they would be removed before cutting.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
The cake was red wine and chocolate and I wanted the wine theme to be reflected.
What are you most proud of?
I love that the cork is so realistic I was a little hesitant about air brushing it but am pleased with how well it turned out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make all your gum paste items in advance, this will make sure they are dry enough to work with. When I marbled the fondant for the barrel I didn't want it to look too marbled just a bit knarelled.
