Vanilla House designs 4 Corners apron pattern, purchased bbq apron, Anita Goodesign Wine Country embroidery designs, wine corks and ice pick to make holes, binding attachment and ruffler attachment.
What was your inspiration?
I was trying to add a Tuscany bit to my kitchen, practice with my binding tool and ruffler, and have a little fun with wine descriptions! The pocket has two pierced wine corks on the ties; the apron has a hidden magnet to hold the matching hotpad with its own magnet; my Hint Of Pepper husband's apron has a button to hold his hand towel. I got carried away and made an insulated wine bottle bag and an appliance cover for my oversized Kitchenaid mixer.
What are you most proud of?
The wine bottle applique - I used a bottle green varigated fabric but still had to add shadowing to one side. I used fabric paint in a lavender over the green to make the cabernet-colored wine. A fabric paint pen made the monogram label-
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun with those attachments! Always make a test scrap.
