Rose Wedding Cake #CraftWedding
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake:
Cake is decorated in butter cream frosting, and covered with 50/50 fondant and gum paste petals. Petals are edged with silver luster dust.
very pretty! Did
you need to remove petals before cutting?
Thanks for the compliments! Yes, I had explained to the bride how it would have to be done, and so she just peeled one off before they cut their piece. The golf club where the wedding was held cut the cake in their kitchen. They just peeled it all off before cutting. Fortunately, it didn't destroy the cake as much as i feared it might.
This is lovely
Thank you. I can't take credit for the design, but I was very happy with the results!
I made a cake identical to this with the exception that for the petals I molded chocolate. I made a template from vellum, covered it in ivory chocolate, let it sit to set & while pliable molded it to my royal iced cake & curved the edges to resemble petals. Started from top to bottom. Takes forever but so worth it then tinted the edges. Timewise is the setting before & after adhearing to cake. But it's awesome & totally edible.
