Wild About You

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Paper Crafts

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Cute

Materials

I used the cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge. I cut multiple chipboard pages and covered them with patterned paper. the pages are all 6" wide. Following are the sizes of the pages; page 1 is 3", 2 is 4 3/4", page 3 is 6 1/2", page 4 is 8", page 5 is 9 1/2", page 6 is 10 1/2" and the back cover is 12". I cut out the animals in chipboard using the blackout feature and then covered them as well. the Lion was cut at 4", Zebra is 6", Tiger is 6", Parrot is 10", Monkey at 6" and Giraffe is at 11 1/2". Also I cut the layers for the animals. The very back page has the word "WILD" at the top. when the back page is opened all the way, you'll actually see then the entire phrase "wild About You".

What was your inspiration?

I saw something similar on a site about two years ago, received this cricut cartridge and wanted to do something different.

What are you most proud of?

I just love scrap booking especially pictures of my grandchildren!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This one is a little more advanced. I always try making a template first before I cut good card stock especially when I am attempting to size a project, I have ruined to many sheets of great paper in the past.

Hi gensys, Craftsy, says you saw my page. Thanks for that. What did you think of my studio. Its not as awesome as yours but its the best I can do for now. I just saw some of your projects. You are quite the Artist dear lady. very impressed wow!!!!! This book with the wild animals, did you get the ideas from the Cloth, Paper, Scissors mags. I saw them on the web and ordered some from them, the Art Journal, and their Pages Mag. As I said, I've just became a gran, and spent last Thurs with my daughter Jackie and my grandson Kaelan for the day. he is the cutest baby. When I went to my daughters baby shower a while back, her best friend did a wonderful invite. I took that and tried to do a Journal with it. Its my first attempt. Quite proud, my best friend Denise and my younger daughter Claire helped a bit. I will post a pic soon. Its that grey blue Mulberry paper. It looks like you do Journals as well. they are a beaut!! I have had some orders to do some, havent got around to them yet, a little nervous. I would like to ask you "gensys" for some advice on of the days. Would you share your email with me, so I could chat with you, (if you dont mind) I think your paper craft is amazing. I'm not that good with paper craft. I think my talents lie in Knitting, Crochet and a bit of Patchwork. I am trying to get into a lot of crafts as friends have asked me to make things, as they dont have the time. Its been great to chat with you. regards, until lata. Pam xxx
