What materials did you use? Cotton Size 10 Crochet thread

What are you most proud of? Having completed the entire process so the hat is wearable. The original pattern is a little vague on shaping and having overcome those challenges, I feel accomplished.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Know how to make boiled starch. Choose your materials and needles with care - a tighter mesh holds starch better and provides more surface onto which the starch can adhere. Either have a hat block or make a "water proof" one. Consider how you will be making a hat band (sweat band) -- and how you will apply it. This band provides the major stability for the hat and prevents the crown from "stretching" with use.

What a lovely and charming hat. Your lace is beautiful. The hat is exquisite and so feminine.

How can I get this pattern for this hat?

This hat can be found in "A Gathering of Lace" editted by Meg Swantsen. The pattern and instructions are easy to follow and shouldn't present a problem.
