Great locations, wonderful light on Mount McKinley. That shot would make a terrific panoramic format if cropped to the top half. Nice idea of finding a foreground element, but this element is not all that interesting compared to this stunning scene. The foreground element needs to be able to hold its own as an important part of the photo. In the ocean shot, you have a nice idea, but the camera is not able to help you. This is beyond the capabilities of the camera from bright to dark. You can see scenes like this just fine, but the camera cannot. A graduated neutral density filter can help darken the sky to balance it with the water or you could use something like HDR photography (high dynamic range). Rob
