Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical, Holiday

Materials

Bottom of Hanging Basket and Deco Mesh for Body, purchased wicked witch stuffed legs and shoes, Black felt and craft-weight interfacing for hat. Various fabrics and ribbons.

What was your inspiration?

I found a similar piece on Etsy by Petals and Plumes. I decided to use the Deco Mesh and tie it onto the wire bottom of a hanging basket. I made the hat from a pattern at http://contentm.mkt2178.com/lp/814/4165/HP_bad_witch_good_witch_download.pdf. I used the Martha Stewart method of making stuffed pumpkins. I also made the flower pins using a pattern from the web that I have long ago forgotten. All items are pinned or tied into the wreath so that they can be removed and changed out easily.

What are you most proud of?

I absolutely love how the hat turned out. I love the fabric flowers and the bat hanging from it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Learn how to tie the deco mesh into a standard wreath first There are plenty of videos on the web. Then you will be like me, looking for other shapes that mesh could be tied to.

I found the legs with the shoes attached at a local gift and floral shop in town. They are stuffed with foam so they are easy to work with.
