What was your inspiration?
My little guy looks so cute in his big ole bulky cloth diaper that I wanted to make a special little cover for him to wear over it. My husband is also a photographer and I wanted to design something that he could offer to his clients as a unique little photo prop. So, the owl diaper cover was born.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Sizes are based on fit over a cloth diaper, so you may want to size down if you used disposable, or at least be sure to measure your little one. The button waist band does end up providing some room for adjustment in the waist. I used Lamb's Pride Bulky yarn, which will felt, so just be sure to wash in cool water and lay flat to dry. Because of this, these are not meant to be a soaker, only a diaper cover.
