What materials did you use? Batik top fabric, Warm & Natural cotton batting, and Shadowplay quilter's cotton backing. Quilted with Superior Threads' 40wt Magnifico poly thread.

What are you most proud of? I really LOVE doing the cathedral windows background; it's slow going, but looks great (even though they are a little wonky in places...)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? LOVE this class!

What ever you do, don't let anyone use these for food!! It would be a travesty if someone spilled something on it and caused a permanent stain.

Thank you Cindy! You've really helped me with exactly how to lay out wholecloth designs and I'm having a great time with them. I've got 3 more of these placemats to do and am going to be trying out different designs on each one. ;-)

Very nice! I love the center feather design

Thanks, that's one of my favorite feather designs also. It's easy to do and you can add all sorts of variations for different looks. I originally tried it after viewing a youtube video of something similar and it has evolved into this.

Looks far too pretty to ever have anything sit on it.
