Having been a doll maker for years, I have taken parts of various dolls to create the look I want...scaling them to one size.Difficulty:
Category: Sewing
Type of item: Home Decor
For: Home
Style: Funky
Materials
Doeskin for the body to enable soft sculpturing of the face along with natural jute for the hair and upholstery fabric for the over dress...the extra fun is the embellishing with whatever suits your mood to make this one scary gal!
What was your inspiration?
I have always been intrigued with creating dolls, many fashioned after senior citizens, as they are so interesting! Each doll takes on it's own personna and no two are ever alike...just like us seniors!!!!
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of sharing my teaching abilities enabling most anyone with a need and a sense of creativity to produce what they were convinced they could not! My line of childrens wear is also a source of pride for me...making it fun to get dressed, the small folks we know strut their stuff in unique combinations of patterns and lots and lots of colors!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Try to think outside the box and relax! Take your time and if you think it "may not go", do it anyway! You'll be surprised at the results!
